Enhanced access

We offer blood tests and some nursing appointments on Fridays between 7:00am to 8am. Please contact reception and request and early morning appointment

Our GPs also offer phone appointments outside of the core hours.

Additional surgeries are held on Fridays between 7:30am to 8am and 6:30pm to 7pm (on Friday evenings the surgery is not open, once patients arrive we close the door).

We also offer extended phone appointments Monday to Thursday from 6:30pm to 7pm. These are pre-booked and the surgery is not open during these times.

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Important: Urgent help

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to access our services easily and comfortably. The health centre is on three floors with The Windrush Medical Practice is based on Level 1.

Wheelchair access: Our practice is wheelchair accessible. Step-free access is available at the main entrance.

Parking: Disabled parking bays are available.

Toilets: Accessible toilets are available.

Hearing support: A hearing loop is available at reception.

Communication support: We can arrange translation or interpretation services, including British Sign Language, if required. Please let us know in advance.

Assistance dogs: We welcome guide dogs and assistance dogs throughout the building.

Breastfeeding friendly: Windrush Health Centre is a breastfeeding friendly practice. Breastfeeding is welcomed in all public areas of our Practice and mothers will not be asked to move or stop. The Practice will endeavour, where possible, to make comfortable arrangements for mothers who would prefer privacy to breastfeed. We have a breast feeding room available in the waiting room on Level 1, please ask at the reception desk.

Support and adjustments: If you need any additional help accessing our services, please contact our reception team so we can make suitable arrangements.

Parking

We have a limited amount of parking space which we keep free for elderly or disabled patients. There is a public car park in Woodford Way, 200 metres from the surgery.
